I've been enjoying Rainbow 6 for some time now. I run it at ultra settings, 1080p resolution with a render scale of 25 and around 130fps. Recently, my frame rate has dropped to 100-70fps even after restarting the game. Changing the textures settings to high didn't improve the situation. With a 144hz monitor, I'm trying to make the most of it, and since I've been playing at such high FPS for a while, anything below 100 feels unsatisfactory. Anyone have any suggestions or fixes?

This could stem from various factors, such as an updated game that lost its optimization due to poor code or a recent Windows 10 update. If your goal is to win, I’d suggest lowering all textures and upscaling the game for better visibility.
These are my recommended steps: first, ensure stable drivers are installed and revert if necessary, then verify your system is clean and disable any processes that could interfere with the game.

So I just created another Windows user for my Smurf account because it's simpler to switch users rather than logging in and out of an Ubisoft account. On my other Windows account, I'm getting 144 fps with ultra settings and a render scale of 50, while on my main account I'm getting 70fps with lower settings. I don't understand why this is happening, but it seems to be the case.

Make sure to update your drivers if you continue to experience problems.

Did you do that again and it's still the same?

Do you have all parameters set to their maximum except the render scale?

I created another Windows account and for a while Rainbow6 worked smoothly at 144fps, but now the same issue is recurring. It doesn’t always occur. Someone else is running at 144fps, while mine drops to 70fps occasionally. Adjusting display settings causes my screen to black for two seconds, after which FPS returns to 120-140fps. For instance, my FPS fell to 70fps when I changed the refresh rate in settings, then it jumps back up to 120-140fps, and if it drops again in the next game, I have to tweak it again to 144hz. It’s a bit confusing.

Due to this, I believed there was an issue with my display, so I attempted to delete and reinstall my graphics card drivers, updated them from the AMD site, but nothing changed. Additionally, I overlooked that lowering the settings to high from ultra doesn’t improve the FPS; it remains at 70fps, and only adjusting display settings makes a difference.
