Working on a fresh PC with a brand new Radeon HD 7750 Eye 6 GPU (I purchased it because it supports four displays). I’m using Mini DP to HDMI adapters. The issue is random shutdowns—PC stays on but monitors disconnect and reconnect. After installing the latest AMD driver, I ran DDU to clear old drivers and am now using Radeon Pro software/drivers. Not sure if this resolves it. I’m wondering if active display adapters are necessary to fix the problem. Anyone have experience or advice? I found something online suggesting they might help. This GPU is still being sold, but I’m concerned about changing it again. If I need just to run many monitors for work, what’s the best option? I prefer something affordable. Thanks!

They use mDP connectors, yes? Based on what I've seen, the adapters tend to be unreliable. Full cables with mDP on one end and DP or HDMI on the other work better. When a monitor drops out unexpectedly because of a bad connection, everything freezes. For replacing a GPU, go for any model released in the last five years—most can handle four displays. The RTX 3060 is a solid choice with strong performance and long-lasting specs.

It's a GPU that's been around for about 11 years. For this model, I suggest using the Catalyst Control Center version 15.7.1 driver.

Absolutely, you're referring to a completely new product in a sealed box. It's surprising they're still available. I'll look into locating the seller next.

I can examine various cables too. It’s Mini DP. I understand it’s for Windows, but from what I’ve read it might connect to adapters. Not sure yet. I might recommend a 3060 if needed. The problem is I don’t think the PC has extra PCIE power. I suppose I could use a MOLEX for a PCIe adapter... EDIT: I just checked 3060s and I’m shocked a 7750 was bought. They’re similar in price...
