Rackmount Router?
Rackmount Router?
Hello, I'm trying to gather all the computer hardware in my home—like the Minecraft server, networking gear, and PC—into a single rack. While searching Amazon, I couldn't find a suitable rack-mount router. Do you know any trusted brands that offer this?
Ubiquiti offers excellent routers that come with mounting brackets. I frequently use the Edgerouter 10x, and it performs very well. https://www.ui.com/edgemax/edgerouter-10x/
Gather only the necessary rails and a piece of plywood. Attach your preferred router to it. For extra protection, opt for a galvanized steel sheet, such as one from an old PC case.
It appears to be solely an Ethernet connection. There isn't built-in Wi-Fi support, but you can use a recommended wireless adapter for additional connectivity options.
Ethernet is the main option. They also provide Access Points which integrate well since the setup includes a PoE port for compatibility.
They don’t seem to offer APs that are rack mountable. Depending on your needs for a router, there are many choices—Cisco makes rack mountable models, Netgate also has options, and you might even repurpose an older server as a router. If you can find a way to attach an old PC, that could work too.
