This router/firewall seems like a compact device with network adapters, perfect for installing PFSense. It should require some RAM and an M.2 SSD. I'm new to this setup and just need guidance on the next steps. PFSense router

It's tough to give a clear opinion about these budget network devices. The J1900 is quite popular in this category and can handle NAT and firewall at gigabit speeds with PFSense. Performance may drop if you add other features like Snort or Squid. I suggest choosing a model with strong user feedback (not fake) or purchasing directly from Netgate, the creators of PFSense. It could cost more upfront, but you'll get better reliability.
