R9 3900x operates smoothly at 60°C

I noticed the fans were spinning fast even when the PC wasn’t using much power. My CPU temperature was 60°C at startup, which is higher than usual. With a 240mm Artic Liquid Freezer II, I wondered if upgrading would help. The idle clock speed is around 4200MHz, which seems high but might be normal for my setup. I’m not sure why it’s so hot or if the AIO fans are starting to fail.

Zen 2 and Zen 3 show elevated idle temps, only displaying the "hotspot." Check your cooler performance by stress-testing with tools like prime95 or cinebench.

The 4200MHz setting is too high for your 3900X; consider resetting the BIOS.

They expected more activity but it's only 10% usage. Right now I'm running around 30 Chrome tabs plus Discord and LoL Launcher, yet I'm only at 5%, which means the 10% isn't really idle at all.

Ok, my bad, then it's totally normal, Ryzen temps jump +20C on any light 10% load !
