Here’s a revised version of your text:

Hi everyone. Let me share my setup first:
I have an AMD Athlon X4 860k with turbo at 4.2ghz
Two 4GB DDR4 modules from Corsair Vengeance, clocked at 1333MHz
A 250Gb Samsung Evo 850 SSD
An MSI R9 380 Gaming Edition Twin FROSTR, factory default clocked at core 980MHz and memory at 1425MHz
A Gigabyte F2A88XN-WIFI motherboard
And a Corsair CX600M power supply unit.

Now regarding my problem: I can play games smoothly at the standard speeds, but if I push the core or memory clocks up by just 1mhz, strange dark glitches appear across the screen and the game crashes—usually during the main menu.

I’ve tried increasing the voltage slightly, but the issue persists even when lowering the core clock by 1mhz. After that, reducing the core speed still doesn’t fix it. I’m unsure what’s causing this since I can overclock my CPU without any problems.

Additionally, I remove my PC case while gaming to reduce component temperatures and keep things dust-free. My temperatures under load are:
- CPU: around 50°C with fan at 82%
- GPU: 45–50°C with fan at about 35%

While idle on Windows, the readings are:
- GPU: 25°C
- CPU: 3°C

I’m not sure what’s wrong with my GPU if it can’t overclock or underclock without crashing. Could this be related to the power supply or the GPU itself? I’d really appreciate any advice, as this is my first gaming PC built in January 2016.

PS: I use MSI Afterburner to monitor and overclock my GPU.

Consider using AMD's Wattman tool for overclocking instead of AB via AMD Crimson settings. It seems to work with R9 300 cards, though I'm still unsure.

I believe your R9 380 model is unsuitable for overclocking.

I have attempted it but encounter an error when starting a game, stating "error occurred default WattMan settings restored." I would consider reinstalling your graphics drivers. Use DDU to uninstall AMD drivers (and any other graphics drivers if you had installed before getting your R9 380).
