I received the 5900X yesterday (four days early!!! YAY!!!). There’s a big change in temperatures. Noctua D15 Air Cooler Stock 5800X: Idle runs at 45-55°C, Cinebench23 10 Min Run is 87, Stock 5900X idles at 31-34°C, Cinebench23 10 Min Run hits 63. I’ll run the tests again today. CB Score: MT 20458; ST 1593. That’s a noticeable difference! It wasn’t just the UV and overclocking—I was more concerned about the temperatures. I thought UV would help, but I wasn’t sure.

No, it's not a typo. The default performance is higher than 4.2GHz, running several hundred MHz above it.

clock speed is 3.7 Ghz on 5900X, I added a moderate 500 MHz overclock, everything works fine and it's stable. RAM runs at 3.2 GHz, no need to push further. I'm satisfied with this configuration so far. The cooling system is excellent, the Noctua D15 is handling it well.

My cooling is adequate, yet the CPU performs significantly more independently. During the most demanding tasks (Linpack Xtreme), it handles 4500 operations without external help, which is the largest load I've encountered. It operates more efficiently under lighter conditions.

5900x maintains better performance across all cores. Adjusting it to 4.2ghz will lower its frequency.

I have raised the base clock from 3.7 to 4.2, the 4.3-4.5 you are talking about is the boost and it is not on all cores, and it is short lived, only spiking when there is a load, I think. But you do raise a point, I did not get a chance to check what the CPU was boosting up to after the OC, I will check it today.

the maximum boost applies only to single-core performance. under multi-core loads, each core operates between its base frequency and the max boost level based on temperature conditions. after checking reviews for the 5900x, it appears to maintain around 4.3 to 4.5ghz across all reviewers. in theory, with optimal cooling, all cores could reach up to 4.8ghz during full multi-core usage (similar to liquid nitrogen cooling at default settings).
