I’m considering a CPU upgrade from your current R5 2600 to newer options like the R7 5700X3D or R9 5900X. You’re currently running a 3070 with a 1440p display and mainly use it for gaming. In your region, prices are similar, though most reviews focus on 1080p setups. I’m looking for guidance on which choice suits your needs best, especially since you’re unsure about the differences at 1080p. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My board is mid-range X570 with a solid cooler and ample RAM, so there are no restrictions—either option works perfectly.

5700X3D then. The variation under identical settings will be marginally smaller, yet the quicker one will remain faster.

For gaming purposes, focus on 5700X3D. Invest time in research, watch countless YouTube videos, etc., and then secure that 5700X3D. Right now, in this scene, X3D is everything you require. If Honda releases a CivicX3D... go for it.

The 5900x/5950x resolution isn't ideal for gaming. Opt for the 3D option instead.
