Hello,
I recently bought two Sapphire Radeon R7 260x OC GPUs and have them active in Crossfire. I'm facing a couple of problems; first, the default clocks aren't hitting the advertised rates (1150/1650), and even when I try to overclock the memory by just 1Mhz, artifacts appear. Even with Core Voltage at 100Mv and Power Limit set to +20%, the artifacts persist. I can adjust the Core Clock well, but changing the Memory clock from 1500Mhz to 1501Mhz causes issues in the game and while browsing. I've tried higher memory clocks, but that only makes things worse.

I have the newest driver installed and updated the BIOS to the latest version. I'm using MSI Afterburner for overclocking. I understand not all cards perform equally and some handle OC better, but I've seen many guides where people reach 1650-1800Mhz Memory clocks. Could it be that my cards are problematic, or is it connected to running them in Crossfire?

My laptop's GTX 970m runs around 16MHz OCed. There seems to be an issue with the GPU's graphics BIOS, and it may not be suitable for overclocking.

Even with Core Voltage at 100Mv and Power Limit set to +20%, the artifacts persist. I can adjust the Core Clock well, but changing the Memory clock from stock 1500Mhz to 1501Mhz causes issues in both the game and while browsing. I've tried higher memory clocks, but that only makes things worse.

I have the latest drivers installed and updated the BIOS to the newest version. I'm using MSI Afterburner for overclocking. I understand not all cards perform equally, and some will handle OC better than others. However, I've seen many guides and discussions where people reach 1650-1800Mhz Memory clocks. Could this be related to the Crossfire environment?

Please avoid overclocking the GPU's RAM, and remember that Silicon Lottery is a common topic.

I recently bought two Sapphire Radeon R7 260x OC GPUs and have them running in Crossfire. I’m facing a couple of problems; first, the default clocks aren’t hitting the advertised rates (1150/1650), and even when I try to overclock the memory by just 1Mhz, artifacts appear. Even with Core Voltage at 100Mv and Power Limit set to +20%, the artifacts persist. I can adjust the Core Clock well, but changing the Memory clock from stock 1500Mhz to 1501Mhz causes issues in the game and while browsing. I’ve increased the memory clocks further, but it only makes things worse. I have the latest drivers installed and updated my BIOS to the newest version. I’m using MSI Afterburner for overclocking. I understand not all cards perform equally, and some handle OC better than others, but I’ve seen many guides where people reach 1650-1800Mhz memory clocks. Could it be that my cards are unsuitable, or is it connected to running Crossfire? Here’s the GPU link: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/b2468/...-2-gb.html

Do not overclock the GPU's RAM. Also, it doesn’t matter what others do—Silicon Lottery is something you’ll hear often.

Is there a specific reason why this card’s memory can’t be overclocked? I’m not trying to match others’ clocks; I’m just trying to discover my own limits. I haven’t had a GPU produce artifacts even at a 1Mhz OC.
