They're all functioning, each of the six pins serves the B channel memory. That's why I considered the CPU could operate if I limited it to using only the A channel for RAM.
It would be nice for you to try it, but sending it would cost $50 on its own. I haven’t received responses from anyone who offered quotes yet, but I’ll keep you updated. What changes would you need to make to swap the pins? I’m worried a heat gun might damage the rest of them. Also, is it safe to power on the PC with the CPU in this state? I’m curious if it will function properly, since the pin layout suggests the missing pins could affect memory. (green indicates memory channel b)
Did it come damaged? If yes, request a refund. Unless you purchased it as a complete set.
A heat gun would be the best option. With careful control of the temperature, it's straightforward. If you're not cautious with the heat, it becomes difficult. I've heard others using a soldering iron, but I haven't tried it myself—this was my main concern. It can be more affordable in some ways, yet still quite expensive overall. UPS flat rate slow mode is around $20 each way, which I'd still think is too costly.
