Hello! I have a Ryzen 5 5600X with three bent pins and three broken pins. The bent pins labeled in yellow are MB_DQS_L[3], MB_DATA[30], and MB_DATA[26]. The broken pins are MB_CHECK[2], MB_CLK_H[0], and MB_CLK_L[0]. I’m curious about their functions and whether the CPU would work after fixing the bent ones. On the Vermeer pinout diagram, these pins relate to B channel memory. Would it be possible to use only the A channel instead? Let me know if you need more details. Thanks!
Bent pins appear on AM4 even with careful handling. I've needed to adjust pins before, and it functions as long as you avoid wearing out the metal and breaking them. When resistance shows up after trying to install, either push firmly and trust it still works (avoid removing the CPU), or locate where the pins remain bent. AM4 chips usually fit without a socket, just like they should.
I purchased the 5600X initially on eBay. I’m okay with paying a bit extra just to have it repaired, since buying another one would be even more expensive. I might consider sending it back if it doesn’t fit my motherboard. Also, the $100 5600X sells quickly on eBay and at repair shops. I’d have grabbed one if I could. I bought this model for $90 as an untested part due to the pins. I’ve asked two repair shops for quotes but haven’t received responses yet.
For the connectors that can be reshaped, simply straighten them. You can use anything from your fingernails to a razor. Broken pins will need desoldering and replacing with a low-cost donor CPU—possibly an AM3 chip since the pin size matches. Salvaging pins is manageable; just apply heat with a gun, use some solder paste, and tweezers if needed.
Obtain the pinout details for the chip first, confirming their relevance before proceeding.

There’s a 3600x option available upfront as “collateral.” The pin you’re concerned about might snap if bent back—there’s little flexibility there. Metal wears out over time.
