I'm still using the stock cooler and just refaced the CPU with a moderate layer of paste. The room temperature is unclear but it's definitely warm here. It idles between 35-40°C. It runs around 80-90°C during games like Battlefield v and Battlefront 2, then drops to 70-85°C in Bannerlord. The CPU fluctuates between 90-95°C under heavy load like Cinebench. I haven't experienced any crashes. I have two intake fans and an exhaust. Thinking about purchasing a budget IDcooler or a Thermalsilicon Assassin both slim coolers, which cost around £15 but should improve performance compared to the stock unit.

Usually these latest chips struggle to stay cool now. A top-tier cooler might be necessary. Are there any background processes running?

I forgot to update the chipset drivers for Windows 11. I'm going to try now, but it's definitely warm since I got it. The old thermal paste was mostly dried out and needed reapplication, but I left a decent layer on top—about two pea-sized amounts, spread out more. I thought it might be related to my CPU fan curve because I haven't noticed it ramping up much.

If it isn't thermal throttling, keep it as is. At such low speeds—around 4GHz—allcore with default settings usually won't show any performance loss, though you might notice minor issues like undervolting if possible.

It's locked so it doesn't give above 95c, I am just more curious if I should be concerned or not.

It seems you're unsure about running stock, but you might want to lower the voltage if possible.

It's running between 25-31°C during gaming, using just 10% of its capacity but drawing 70-80°C. It looks like it has a lot of power for such low usage. How much should I lower the voltage?

Lower the voltage to its lowest safe level before it starts acting up I suggest prime95 smallest ffts or aida64 stress test to check CPU stability
