Hello everyone, I recently purchased NFS Payback for £17 to pair with a new steering wheel. The game installed, and I was excited to test my computer’s performance! However, the game refuses to load; when I press “play,” Origin closes, followed by Origin reappearing after about two seconds. I've tried every troubleshooting step suggested on the EA Answers forum, but nothing has resolved the issue. The minimum CPU requirement is listed as 4 cores, yet I’ve observed gameplay footage of this game running on dual-core processors, including my friend’s system with a Pentium G5500.
Could anyone suggest a solution to this problem? I'm concerned about wasting £17 and having a £150 steering wheel collection sit unused.
My PC specifications are:
GTX 950 2GB
Intel Pentium G4400
8 GB RAM (1x)
CD Drive
1 TB HDD
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as I’m feeling stressed and it's currently 2 a.m.! Thank you in advance.
Computer hardware specifications for games and applications often have precise demands. A processor with at least four cores may not function properly if the lowest specification is two cores. There’s also a stated minimum clock speed of 3.6 GHz. For example, a friend's G5500 operates at 3.8 GHz while your G4400 runs at 3.3 GHz. His processor has four cores and eight threads, whereas yours is limited to two cores with two threads. It’s possible the issue stems from your system failing to satisfy these requirements, rather than a software error or defect. Perhaps others can offer further insight. Some individuals suggest increasing Windows virtual memory/page file size to 10GB as a potential solution.
It's strange, however, that I've observed gameplay footage featuring this chip utilizing both a G4400 and a 750ti.
