I have a client whose QuickBooks POS v18 suddenly stopped recognizing product numbers, despite it functioning well for two to three years. Since QuickBooks no longer supports POS, they advised using alternative solutions. Today is Thanksgiving Eve, and the liquor store can't operate because their POS system is down. I need a product number and license for QuickBooks POS Pro 18 that are no longer in use. Also, I'm looking for software I can download and try in trial mode until a better option arrives. They're open to Windows-based solutions, as I recently built a robust POS system for them.

Have you looked for a solution using Google or Bing?
The first answer provided by Google can be found at the specified link.
Upgrading to a different POS system isn't a quick decision since it requires time for getting used to and training staff.

I saw that too. The error code isn't showing up, and QuickBooks just shuts down completely with nothing you can do inside. I tried fixing it but didn't succeed. Uninstalling everything and reinstalling didn't help either. I haven't tried any of the suggested steps. I'll have to try again.

I understand that updating the POS system isn't always easy, but if QuickBooks won't work again, what options do I have?

You might also encounter a scenario where Intuit has shut down the license servers. If you're considering making adjustments, Aloha POS could be a viable option. It's been more than two decades since I last used it, but they previously offered "Table Service" for sit-down locations and "Quick Service" for take-out establishments.

What I'm worried about is that QuickBooks won't admit to doing so but it definitely doesn't care.
My client runs a liquor store where they sell alcohol and lottery tickets.
