I received his G skill Trident Z neos recently. I still have G with 3200s, while he has 3600s. I’m confident I can push mine up to 3400 without risking damage, but I’m wondering if matching the cas latency and lowering the neos to 3400 with my MSI B550 Tomahawk would allow me to run them together as a full quad channel setup.
You won't receive quad channel memory since your board and CPU only support dual channel, though you can still access extra capacity. It's uncertain if all components will function together. Running four sticks increases the load on the memory controller in the CPU. Still, lowering the clock speed usually helps and should be acceptable.
