The delay between them can vary. One might be a CL18 and the other a CL16.

As @732 mentioned, lower latency is preferable. You can reach CL14 on certain kits, though it becomes quite costly. I've noticed G.Skill offers CL18 and CL16 latency kits for the 2x8 models you're considering. The details on Corsiar aren't clear to me.
