Hi there, I'm looking for some guidance on upgrading my GPU. I have a Prime A520M motherboard with a 5600G processor, 16GB RAM, and a 12GB RTX 3060. I'm considering the 5060 Ti and wondering if my setup would work well with it. Is it worth the upgrade? Thanks!

If you're looking to play on a budget, the 5060ti is a solid choice. But recently the AMD RX 9060xt cards were released that match their performance. I recommend choosing either of these, opting for the 16gb models. There are both 8gb and 16gb versions available, though I'd advise against the 8gb ones.

Some games are restricted by graphics capabilities, such as fast action shooters.
Others are constrained by CPU speed, like strategy, sims, and mmo games.
Multiplayer usually prefers many threads.
Before deciding on a GPU upgrade, assess your current setup.
Run your games at lower resolutions and reduce visual effects.
This helps the graphics card perform better.
An increase in FPS suggests your CPU can handle a better graphics setup.
If FPS remains unchanged, your CPU might be the limiting factor.
Upgrading the GPU should be a substantial improvement, ideally surpassing the 5060ti, otherwise results may not meet expectations.

It would perform well with a 5060 Ti, but you might want to consider the RX 9060 XT 16GB at its $350 MSRP, offering most of the speed of a 5060 TI for a much lower price. I also suggest increasing your RAM to 32GB, as 16GB could be a constraint in some newer titles.

I noticed some 16gb cards available. My nearby Microcenter had a few priced at 350. However, if you're checking Newegg, this card might be more suitable.

I recently bought an 9060 XT 16GB card from the Microcenter in Duluth, GA. They had around 14 left at the time of purchase, but they’re sold out online now. It looks like Microcenter still has a good number of these in stock for other models if you’re nearby.

Some users install PCIe5 cards on PCIe3 boards to take advantage of newer technologies, improve performance, or meet specific system requirements.

Regardless of your selection, avoid opting for an 8GB model, particularly with older motherboards or CPUs.

If I'm correct, the 9060xt utilizes all 16 PCIe expansion lanes without noticeable performance issues, unlike other cards such as the 5060ti which use x8.
