Hi guys
Running Windows 10 on an AMD Ryzen 1600x with 16GB RAM and GeForce 2070 feels like a system from about five years ago. I’ve noticed the new AMD Ryzen 7 9800 is both CPU and GPU, which is interesting since I’m not in this field much. I’ve been gaming casually and using the PC for everyday tasks like email and browsing. Performance isn’t bad for Call of Duty Black Ops 6. The power supply is 1200 watts. Since I’m not a hardcore gamer, would AMD still be a solid choice? Is it suitable for something like a well-loaded Honda Accord PC?

As for your current build, please list your specs like so: CPU: CPU cooler: Motherboard: Ram: SSD/HDD: GPU: PSU: Chassis: OS: Monitor: include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time. I casually game..and use the computer for most every stuff..email web etc.. nothing too intensive except gaming..Seems I can still run call of duty black ops 6 with pretty good performance.. You should elaborate on the etc, listing app's and if the build is meant for gaming, what other titles do you want to game with the PC and at what resolution/refresh rate. Im seeing the new amd ryZen 7 9800 is a cpu AND gpu It has an iGPU but it's meant for display out, not for gaming. Well maybe you could game on it but if the game is playable at those frame rates, is up for question.
For 9000 Ryzen models you require at least new memory and RAM, but based on your memory capacity you can achieve a significant upgrade by installing Ryzen 5600x and beyond up to 5700x3D or even 5800x3D, which would double or triple CPU performance.
What issues exist with your present setup?
Are you considering improvements simply because the system is outdated?
The CPU performs significantly slower than the Ryzen 5000 series; even the 5600x is at least twice as fast and would remain functional for another five years. Based on the OP's GPU, he is running at 1080p at 60-75Hz, making the CPU crucial since it handles most of the workload.
