When the PC is off yet connected to AC power, the PSU emits a high-pitched noise that I can hear when close to the computer, similar to a tinnitus sound. A technician examined the machine and reported no issues, stating everything was normal. I recorded the sound, which appears to come from the PSU. The PC model is HP ProDesk G2 600 SFF, with an i5 6th generation CPU, Intel HD GPU, and a 200W PSU. The noise began after the power cord was plugged in and persisted even when the computer was off. The technician advised removing the power cable to stop it, but I recorded the audio and heard the same noise. Is this typical or should I be concerned?

Attempt to move to a different wall outlet and observe any differences. Be aware that the sole factor altered between your home and the technician's site is the power source, which is your wall outlet.

I heard it even with the technician, mybee—it's a bit quieter, but he mentioned nothing was wrong.

i recorded the pitch noise i think is from psu:
Connect the power cord to the computer even without turning it on and it remains continuous. Once the computer is turned off, the sound remains until I remove the power cord or cut off the power. I have attached a link to the sound. Is it normal or dangerous?
Pc model: hp prodesk g2 600 sff
Cpu: i5 6generation
Gpu: intel hd
Psu: 200w(the original one i guess)
The pitched noise start once the power supply plugged into wall and stay, even the pc is off the only think to stop this pitched noise it to unplug power cable from the wall, the technicien said theres no noise, but i did record the video (you can see it and heard the pitched noise)

Hello
I discussed a previous issue involving an bothersome whining noise from the computer’s power supply when it is plugged in, even when turned off. Some recommended changing the electrical outlet, but the sound persisted. I took the machine to a friend’s place and the noise still occurred. The sound happens whenever the computer is connected to electricity without being powered on. It seems unclear exactly what is causing it, and there is a concern it might lead to damage or an explosion. Should I continue using the computer until the PSU is replaced? I also checked two identical computers for the same reason; the sound was present in both, though its volume and timing varied. In this one, the noise remained as long as electricity flowed.

Another video I recorded today shows the PC plugged in but not powered on:

PC name: hp prodesk g2 600 sff
CPU: i5 6eme
GPU: intel hd
PSU: New Genuine PS for HP Prodesk 600 G2 200 Watt Power Supply 796419-001
Wattage: 200 watts
