What metrics are you using to assess performance? Also, do you know your PSU isn't powerful enough for the GPU?

i didn't realize i had watched a yt video where someone built something using this psu, but i see the same arrangement on my own but the results differ.

Avoid using YouTube videos to assess performance. Many of them are poor quality.

Question the PSU's quality and power level. If it fails, consider giving up on the rest of your gear. Concern about RAM: is it a single stick or a 2x8GB package? What is its speed? Did you adjust the BIOS to activate XMP?

it's been nearly five years since I built the pc, and it still worked fine. the ram is 2x8b.
