Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.
cpu:intel 9400f
motherboard:msi h310m pro vdh plus
Your processor is an F SKU meaning it lacks an iGPU. You will need a discrete GPU if you don't have one, to get display out from your system.
last time i used it the cmos battery was disconnected while my pc was in bios
Have you tried replacing the CMOS battery with a fresh cell?
It must remain the same model or I can simply select another one.
If by this you mean "can I use any GPU", the response is largely affirmative within limits. For a GPU fitting in the PCIe x16 slot, you should see results on the screen. Options like an old GT730 or a modern RTX 4090 could be viable. Avoid very slow models such as the GT730 for demanding tasks, though they might suffice for basic checks.
If you're considering a 2025 or 2016 battery instead of the standard 2032, the outcome is uncertain. Both have the same outer diameter (20mm), but differ in thickness (2.5mm and 1.6mm). A thinner battery may not connect properly in a socket meant for a thicker 3.2mm unit. Skip any with a smaller diameter—it's unlikely to function.
