Questionmouse stops tracking
Hello, both my previous and current mice (Logitech G502 HERO models) have experienced cursor freezing at random intervals lasting several seconds to a minute. This issue appears inconsistent with using a white textured paper towel as a mouse pad, unlike the smoother feel of my Steelseries QCK mousepad. My Windows settings show a pointer speed of 12 with a DPI of 2000 and a polling rate of 1k through Logitech Ghub, with Windows Enhanced Pointer Precision enabled.
I've tried several solutions: reinstalling Logitech Ghub, updating drivers via Device Manager, reducing the polling rate, lowering DPI, decreasing mouse speed in Windows, performing a full DISM repair and SFC scan. The problem first emerged at the beginning of last month (December), possibly due to a Windows update. So far, using a temporary white textured paper towel pad has been the only workaround, though it's inconvenient and doesn't provide a smooth glide.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I own some G502s but have never tried the poor Ghub because they are old enough to work with the outdated Logitech Gaming Software. Even then I only use it for programming mice and moving them to computers that never had the software installed, so I’m not familiar with any issues. On the other hand, pro gamers often rely on the portable Logitech Onboard Memory Manager to bypass anti-cheat systems.
I recommend printing the world's cheapest mousepad and laminating it.
