The necessity of contact frames on the high-end Z890 boards, especially in the 15th generation, is worth considering. I purchased the Z890 Aorus Master with the RL-ILM instead of the standard option. Back in the 14th generation, contact frames helped raise temperatures by up to 7°C. It seems improvements have been made since then, though the difference is still noticeable—around 2-2.5°C compared to standard. Steve conducted tests and observed a similar gap. I’m curious about a direct comparison between RL-ILM and contact frames, but I haven’t found any. Anyone have insights?

Ps: The cooling system is a 420 AIO.

The 14th gen model required significantly more heat dissipation. At those temperatures, do you really need it? (That chart includes an air cooler) I believe there won’t be much improvement even with the highest delta you mentioned (5°C). If you’re willing to invest time, a direct die might be more effective. If it’s too costly and a contact frame is an option, go for it.
