Hi everyone
I'm looking for a virtual machine that can run DirectX 12 and allow USB passthrough so I can use two mice and two keyboards on each desktop using a single monitor.

Just to confirm: what is the main goal? One individual operates a keyboard and mouse on the desktop to play a game, while another participates in the same game through a virtual machine using a different keyboard and mouse setup, with the game displayed on a shared monitor. More details are required.

In a multi-user setup, one machine will serve as the host while another shares resources. You may need to add virtualization tools and a second display for the additional user. The provided resources can assist in beginning this process:
https://windowsreport.com/windows-11-two...same-time/

[Note: This advice is based on existing configurations and does not endorse specific products.]

I have tried various configurations and still can't locate what I need. I prefer not to use two cards and monitors since I'm aiming to lower energy usage. Hyper-V with a partitioned GPU performs well, but I can't get it to allow the second mouse or keyboard's only host to control the Hyper-V desktop. All third-party USB apps show through the mouse pass-through, but you can't see the pointer or cursor.

Energy usage is clear—your goal is to lower it.
That’s perfectly acceptable.
But what current energy is being consumed and what reduction goals should we aim for?
We need numbers, please.
It’s probable that for devices like cards and monitors, there are some fixed costs that can’t be cut further.
I’m not sure what those figures might be.
On the other hand, it’s just as plausible that you can balance the PC’s energy use with alternative methods. For example, using a nightlight instead of a high-wattage bulb left on overnight.
And in fact, exploring more options can lead to even greater savings.
Even a single LED bulb can help reduce power consumption.
Consider the overall situation.

I really can't figure out why my energy use is so high. I'm trying to get it under control soon, but the main focus is on eventually building a battery generator for my portable PC while camping. Another idea is to run VMwear and use a streaming service that uses my PC as a server. Any advice? Parsec seems really costly since it doesn't offer a lifetime pass or affordable service fees.

I assessed the level using specific criteria and emphasize that my PCs are central to this. Regarding the portable laptop question, a laptop isn't suitable because it lacks the necessary power and durability for such use.

Currently, I struggle to bring my server or PC down below 247w under typical needs. If I’m talking about off-grid living or fishing for 10 to 14 hours a day, I need more power. But if I can’t figure out how to run everything on one monitor, I’ll have to supply extra power because I’m using a server along with a tablet, laptop, or PC that needs to handle two VMWEAR player instances.
