Performance is quite slow
the game is fortnight (it doesn’t let me say), this really helped, fps drops while spinning are completely gone, i set it to 1.35v 2800mhz (didn’t want to risk), cl 16 rcdrd 18 rcdwr 18 rp 18 ras 36, did i do it right? they are in 2 and 4, the only thing left now is when i just boot my pc i get some stutters in desktop, or if i open 2 apps at the same time, like google and discord, sometimes when i just open one app, my desktop freezes for a second, in game those crazy 1% lows like 10fps are now like 60-90 fps, but it feels off a bit still, because they happen at random moments, not intense ones like when the pc is struggling, just during easy times, also the 144hz feels much better now too, but it’s still not perfect, thanks for the advice. should i still try other outlets in my house? also quick question, why does resetting the bios from the cmos battery help, like when is it necessary to do so? when changing a lot of stuff or? anyway, thanks a lot for the help, i made great progress on this problem, which i was never able to do before.
Try increasing the RAM speed slightly to 2933 and observe the system's behavior. Also, adjust the Windows power plan to either balanced or Ryzen balanced, and ensure the minimum processor state is set to 10% in advanced options.
should i adjust those settings or voltage? just focus on speed. i have windows power plan set to max performance, i’ll switch it now and let you know. i’ve noticed the fps drops are getting worse now, more so than before changing ram speed. thank you so much for your help.
Just crank it up. 1.35v works, but you might want to raise it a bit, around 1.36v to 1.37v
after adjusting it that way, i notice more fps drops, but the game feels more responsive. it seems unrelated to that change, though playing longer is making my problems worse. i might try increasing the ram speed next. this makes sense since performance drops more with playtime, but i'm not an expert. thanks for the advice, i'll test it now.
resetting the CMOS battery mainly helps when you've made changes in the BIOS and when you can't access the BIOS or if your PC is stuck in a boot loop.
also, keeping the PC in performance mode on Windows keeps the clocks running high, which is usually balanced well.
the timings I mentioned worked perfectly. 1.35v is essentially the highest RAM speed I would try, as increasing it further can cause damage or degradation.
the Ryzen 2600 was still working through the issues of the Ryzen 1000 series.
gen 2 Ryzen behaved differently from gen 1 and also depends on the motherboard manufacturer.
I covered all generations from 1 to 2 before moving to gen 5.
but the main issue with all the adjustments is that the longer i use my pc, the more noticeable the input lag, stuttering, and dropping hz becomes, making everything feel less stable. It seems to work best when the pc is just turned on, after which there are no drops for about five minutes before things start to decline.
