Question1080p gaming build
Question1080p gaming build
Approximate Purchase Date: About one week
Budget Range: Better for every 2k less
System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming with GeForce Instant Replay always on
Are you purchasing a monitor? No
Parts to Upgrade: All
Do you need an operating system? Yes
Please be aware that if you have an OEM Windows license, you’ll need a new one when buying a new motherboard.
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Any in the US
Location: Colorado
Parts Preferences: NVidia GPU
Overclocking: No
SLI or Crossfire: No
Your Monitor Resolution: 1080p 144 Hz
Additional Comments: No RGB
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: The PC is 11 years old and doesn’t meet his usual standards.
He wants a system that can run all new AAA games at maximum settings and lasts as long as possible.
In my opinion, he could still enjoy around 7 years with a GPU upgrade in three years.
I’m seeking some feedback (second choice) on the build I recommend for him
Thanks

I don’t have much knowledge about the MSI, but I think it’s a decent option. This is the model I own and I’m confident it’s at tier A.
I’m just trying to figure out exactly where that msi psu fits in the tier list. Some units with similar names appear to be tier c, which is the lower end of what you’d want.
The PSU Tier List rev. 17.0g from Cultists Network can assist in picking the optimal PSU among hundreds available. It covers everything from budget options to top-tier power supplies.

I understand it’s around thirty dollars, but given how much you’re spending, it feels like a small sacrifice for saving that amount. That’s just my opinion. Still, for 1080p performance it should hold up well.
If you’re curious about AMD GPUs, you might want to check if they have any promotions on the 7900 graphics card.
