I replace my old WD SDD with a brand new Samsung 990 Pro M2.2280 2TB (straight out of the box) into my Lenovo ThinkBook 14 2-in-1 G4 IML. During the installation process, it did not prompt me for my Windows 11 License Key. The laptop was also unable to connect to the internet (but i managed to skip this step).
I installed Windows 11 into the unallocated space on my SSD. There are no parition. After the installation, besides the C Drive that was automatically created, there is a EFI System Partition (100 MB in size) and a Recovery Partition (768 MB in size).
Question: Why is there a a Recovery Partition? Could i delete the partition and extend my C Drive into the unallocated space using native windows tools? I remember that the last time i do a clean installation of Windows 10 on another laptop, there is no Recovery Partition. Why is there a Recovery Partition now? Did i mis-perform any steps?

the recovery partition is not a major concern. in fact, it's not a big problem at all. missing it can be an issue when you need to use the recovery to reset the PC and related files. it's best to keep it as it is. it's around 700mb.

Following the setup, in addition to the automatically generated C Drive, there are an EFI System Partition of 100 MB and a Recovery Partition of 768 MB available.

And that 768MB is probably much smaller than 0.1% of the total storage capacity.
(varies based on the drive type)
Just delete it and the next half-yearly Windows update will rebuild it.

Recovery partition provides a recovery setting.
It helps identify or fix boot problems and file system issues, as well as enabling system restore and running recovery from a saved drive image.
Alternatively - this feature is also accessible via the Windows installation media.

The Recovery Partition holds the WinRE environment which launches when you require a recovery setup. It isn't mandatory, yet its absence restricts your recovery possibilities.
This site provides comprehensive information about the Recovery Partition.
