Question Why do I see dim pictures on my windows 11 screen
I've tried everything else out there, but I still don't see anything wrong in those messages. It's getting to be too much stress for me. Do you have any suggestions?
Howdy, This is actually a typical issue with HDR mode on Windows 11. I have an HDR monitor as well and it dims randomly after playing a game or such. I think the only fix to this problem is waiting for Microsoft. I also tried everything but whenever it does it, I just turn my monitor off and on again. Janky but ok. Hopefully this helps.
I don't have any problems with HDR on Windows 11, unlike on Win10. Now it doesn't look washed out anymore. You can calibrate it right and use two different color profiles for SDR and HDR. They switch when you turn them on or off. Back in Win10 there was nothing like that; SDR content on HDR just looked bad, but on Win11 it looks way better. Even the colors of plain SDR look better now with HDR turned on. It feels like boosting vibrance without ruining color accuracy.
In the NVIDIA Control Panel, when you go into Display and click Change Resolution, make sure you pick 3 dots. If you choose Use NVIDIA color settings instead of Use default color settings, then the problem with HDR and advanced color popping back to off happens. If you leave Use default color settings selected, it lets you set the toggle to On or Off just like a normal person would expect.
