Question Which is better, a mousepad or a deskpad ?

I'm looking for a mousepad for my Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro. I have two choices: either buy a smaller pad and pair it with a Keebmat keyboard mat for my Wooting 80 HE keyboard, which would mean my left hand stays on the desk while using the mouse, or I can get a larger pad that fits with a Keebmat mat, though I'm worried about dust buildup in front of the keyboard. Which option is better?
What kind of mousepad should I choose? I've used a Razer Gigantus before and really liked it.

I've stopped using mouse pads because they only protect the area directly beneath your mouse. A desk mat would cover most of your desk and gives a consistent look when your mouse and keyboard are placed on it.
