Question which games is my graphics card good enough for?
I have an old i5-650 processor. It has an integrated graphics card, but I don't know what games can run on it. Could you help me find out? No kidding at all. That graphics card has been around for 12 years and was pretty weak back then. But here is the thing: It can still work, just because it's old. Do you have the rest of your computer parts? If you need to buy new stuff to make this CPU actually useful, I say don't bother buying it. Not worth it at all. Unless you're only using it to run really slow old software or games from a long time ago on an outdated system, then changing things is totally a waste of time. If you just want to have fun? The games you'll get are probably very light and need to be five years or more old. It depends a lot: Is it just for using the graphics card alone? Then it's going to feel like a frustrating mess, or will you use the CPU with another graphics card? Either way, probably not worth doing unless it's purely out of curiosity or as a hobby.
Play CSGO, Minecraft, Hearthstone, League of Legends, Dota 2, Castle Crashers, and Left 4 Dead (including the second game) all at 720p low. There are lots of old games that are easier to run on these settings. You have tons of choices available. But if you can find a GTX 1030 or an RX 550 for a cheap price, those would be a big upgrade.
Those wouldn't count as an upgrade. It would just be like having ten times the speed. I really don't think that i5-650 GPU could run any of those games reliably at 30 frames per second, even on a decent game. Maybe it works sometimes, but almost certainly no, not at all at 60 frames per second. And if you're looking at something bigger than 720p like the screenshot shows which is actually running at 1080p, things will get WAY worse for sure. It won't happen unless you have very old games and are expecting nothing from them.
I didn't say they'd play super well, you're right, probably around 30fps for many of them, but that's playable for many people. Castle crashers was originally an Xbox 360 game that needs a directx 9 card with 256mb ram, not a huge stretch to play it well here on hearthstone. Hearthstone is a card game, at least you could play don't starve or don't starve together, half life 2, retro games in general. Yes it's old, yes it's not amazing, but it's not totally useless and it can still play SOME games, just not many newer ones. That said, you need to upgrade to play anything newer, that's a very old platform, where are you located?
