Question WARZONE 2.0 HAS A BAD FPS FIX?
My system details are rtx 2060, i5 8440, 16GB 266hz ram. I understand my configuration is only midrange, yet I experience around 50fps sometimes 40, depending on the scene; and this happens even with the lowest graphics settings (my game looks like Roblox). The mouse also feels poor, making it difficult to play. My GPU drivers are current, and I'm using DLSS, so I'm questioning whether my PC isn't powerful enough.
Navigate to C:\Documents\Call of Duty\players and launch options.3.cod22.cst using notepad. Locate RendererWorkerCount and adjust it to match your CPU core count or a typical number like 6, then set it accordingly. In the game with the lowest graphics settings, disable texture streaming and enable spot cache on high/ultra. This configuration works for my system, which matches my specifications.
You are playing on various screen resolutions, including 1080p, 2K, and 4K. Are other PC games running on your system behaving similarly to Warzone 2? Which power supply unit model are you using? Have you checked the CPU and GPU temperatures during gameplay? I’m aware of low frame rates, stuttering, freezing, and crashes in Warzone 2 since its release. Consider playing Warzone 2 in Fullscreen Exclusive mode. This setting may lead to problems like low FPS, input lag, and stuttering, so ensure you’re using it correctly. The DLSS tends to work well, but many crashes and performance issues in Warzone 2 are linked to DLSS. You might want to try AMD FSR instead. Switching from the Quality Graphics Settings to AMD FSR 1.0’s upscaling method has helped some users. Also, make sure V Sync is turned off. If the Spot Cache value in Graphics Settings and the Quality tab is set low, it can sometimes result in stuttering. Adjust Spot Cache to High or Ultra and see if your problem persists. You may also test running the game with DirectX 11 or DirectX 12 via Steam’s Launch Options using commands like -3d11, -dx11, and -dx12. If that doesn’t work, try DirectX12. You can access these options through the Steam menu. Lastly, disable Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling in Windows Settings, as HAGS is contributing to stuttering and FPS drops in this game. You can also modify the game’s configuration file by navigating to Documents > CallOfDuty > Players > options.3.cod22 and changing RendererWorkerCount:0.0 to your CPU’s physical core count. Enter half of that number, press Ctrl+S to save, then test the game for improvement.
