Question: Video without new graphics card installed
Question: Video without new graphics card installed
I upgraded my old PC with an R5 240 to run some simple games. The issue is that when I connect the video card, no signal appears and the screen remains black.
Details:
CPU: Core 2 Duo E7200
RAM: 4GB DDR2 667MHz
Board: Asrock board wolfdale1333-d667
GPU: R5 240
The monitor is connected to the graphics card.
I tested the card on another similar machine with a Foxconn G41 and it worked.
Using a GTX 560 Ti I borrowed also produced video, so the port functions.
However, when I connect the R5 240, no video appears, but if I detach the video cable from the card and plug it into the board, video works with the built-in graphics even though the R5 is connected.
I suspect the card might not be recognized.
I’ve cleaned the connector, uninstalled old drivers using DDU, and reset the board by removing the battery for 5 minutes before reinserting it.
What do you think could be the cause? I’ve checked everything so far and believe there should be no issue.
