Hi. I’m facing unpredictable crashes on my PC, usually occurring once a week, though sometimes more or less.

Symptoms:
- Screen goes black suddenly (sometimes one green and one black) and audio stops, sometimes just loops and starts again.
- Can’t do anything except restart the computer using the reset button on the case or flipping the PSU power switch.
- Pressing reset results in no display and the CPU debug lights show a CPU light.
- After flipping the PSU power switch and turning the PC on, everything works normally.

Specs:
- Intel i5 12600k
- MSI Z690-A Pro DDR4
- 4x8GB 3200 kingston DDR4
- Corsair RM 850X
- Intel Core i7 5700 XT

I’ve checked the Event Viewer but can’t understand it. Drivers are up to date and temperatures are normal. Anyone have any advice?

What method are you using to cool the processor? How old is the power supply unit? What is the model of your case, along with the fan count and their direction? What is the BIOS version on your motherboard?

Good points above. I have a comparable configuration, same PSU, a 12600kf, but running a 6800xt. If the PSU is more recent, I’d focus on the cooling. I also have a Thermalright peerless assassin on my CPU and it’s performing well.
If the RAM isn’t a matching set, that could be another factor to consider.

Cpu cooler matches Arctic Freezer 34 esports duo. The PSU is 1.5 years old. The case is Lian-li Lance Cool 2 mesh, and I have seven case fans—two intake at the bottom, three intake front, one exhaust top and back.
BIOS Version/Date: American Megatrends International, LLC. 1.E0, 11/09/2023

I own two units of the identical RAM, Kingston Fury Beast. Temperatures appear normal, with all fans except the CPU cooler running at 53°C and the CPU at 46°C during idle.

I considered refreshing the bios, but because the crashes occur unpredictably, it's hard to simply recreate one.
Edit: I've now updated my bios.

Hi. This occurred again today; one screen worked after waiting, then displayed a popup about the GPU driver crashing and entered safe mode. I also saw an icue popup. Could my GPU be failing? The previous issue happened while playing ETS2, now I'm watching YouTube.
