Question Vengeance Ram will not be overclocked.
Finally managed to overclock my i9 9900k with the built-in AI on my Asus Z390-f. Everything is working well now, focusing on RAM. It's using Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 2x16gb at 3200, running at 2133 standard but not exceeding it much. At 2266 it boots fine and confirms memory status. Saving settings, pressing F1 prevents it from going beyond BIOS setup. Are the auto-settings effective or is this a manual process of adjusting voltage and timing? I was expecting some gain when using auto mode. XMP just doesn't seem to work at all.
I have Samsung devices too. It's really tough to use them effectively. They only run stock and don't do much else. I've checked them thoroughly and found no issues. I also have the latest firmware installed. I spent several days trying different solutions, but nothing seems to work. I built them about six months ago, but I'm only managing to get them overlocked now. Determined to fix it.
I would use the xmp profile and verify if the dram voltage is set properly. It should be 1.35 v. If it doesn't work, try 1.4 v. If that succeeds, look for the lowest stable voltage in between.
Can only achieve 2266 by manually adjusting the settings. XMP is refusing to function properly. I might attempt a different set of sticks since I suspect this is related to the board. It appears to be a typical issue based on what I've seen.
