After removing the Asus bloatware (such as Armory Crate), the game would start directly from the title screen. I assumed a clean boot—shutting off non-Window services on startup—to determine if those bloatwares were responsible. Since these services are closely tied to Windows and require a full reinstall, I decided to uninstall them carefully via Program Uninstall. All installations proceeded without issues. When launching the game (even after adding it to the DEP list), after the intro video, I only saw my cursor and a black screen. Pressing any key other than Enter, Esc, or Space causes the game to close. If I skip the intro video and use TRAWindowed, the game crashes with a fatal error.

I attempted to install the June 2010 SDK redist and web installer, as well as setting the OPENSSL_ia32cap variable in system properties. Running it through a clean boot helped identify if any services—especially those forced on my laptop like Armory Crate components—were causing interference. I performed basic adjustments such as disabling full screen optimization and running the game as an administrator. I also turned off threaded optimization, allowing the game to run solely on my discrete GPU (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU) via the Nvidia Control Panel. My laptop supports Advanced Optimus, and Windows Power Plan remains set to Balanced with no changes. I forced TRL to use the integrated Intel GPU. The game’s settings now restrict it to that GPU only. Despite these changes, the crash still occurs immediately after the intro.

Nothing altered the result. I also installed the game on my previous laptop, which functions perfectly (I retain access if needed). Tomb Raider Anniversary works without issues. It might be the CPU, though I've already tried setting affinity to 1 or 2 cores.

Additional notes: I omitted mentioning the .Exe fix attempt with the Retail version (purchased from GoG), and I tested booting with only four processors via System Configuration, but it still didn’t resolve the problem.

I forgot to mention that I attempted this. It simply keeps displaying a black screen endlessly. Thank you. I'll revise my post.
