I'm having trouble keeping the car steady in GTAV. The slightest mouse or arrow key input causes it to drift uncontrollably, especially during the first test mission where I struggle to keep up with the other player. I don't think the mouse sensitivity is the issue since the problem persists with the keyboard as well.

I never faced an issue driving in GTA V using the keyboard. The key is to focus on accelerating mainly on straightaways, and on curves, coast and tap versus holding the steering controls. The number of taps varies depending on how tight the turn is and your speed. While some turns and straights allow holding the steering keys, excessive tapping in tighter turns can cause problems.

You might also want to verify if your current graphics configuration provides sufficient FPS; consider tweaking it for improved performance. I recall that when I first played GTA V, having the correct settings and adequate FPS made the game much more enjoyable. I used a tool called FRAPS: https://fraps.com/ which supports Direct X 11 and displays FPS during gameplay.

For minimal resource consumption in terms of FPS display, RTSS offers the least impact.
