does sound like something is not working properly.
what are the gaps between the normal operation and those drops you talk about? Are they one minute, five minutes, fifteen minutes? More? I've noticed rdr2 dropping from 60 to around 30 seconds on my rig (10700+32g 3600 c16) at random times, then returning quickly, but this only occurs occasionally during a few sessions.
he's not using a ryzen processor.

It might be a background process; are there other activities running during playback? Have you refreshed the system information?

Ha! That's correct. I should have stayed focused.
Recommendations remain consistent regardless. XMP for Intel.

Yes, drops that big will be noticeable. It's way below what you'd expect your 1% lows to be. And given this is a measure of smoothness, then something is at play.

I've mentioned this earlier, but why isn't Gsync being used? It won't cause sudden stutters, and it functions within the range of approximately 48-165 Hz, which matches the monitor's maximum refresh rate.
