Hello.
I’m experiencing a rather unusual issue while playing Star Craft II. The game runs fine at the start, but once the match begins, it starts to stutter—micro stutters appear—and gradually the performance deteriorates until I kill some enemy units and then things improve.

My system specifications are:
- Intel i5 10400f
- RTX 4070TI
- 2x8 3200 mhz DDR4 RAM
- 1+1 TB SSD
- 1000W PSU
- B460 HD3

I understand the CPU might be limiting the GPU, but I’m certain that’s not the main cause. The game is over 10 years old, and the CPU should be capable. However, despite adjusting the FPS with a Riva tuner, the game still caps at the same FPS regardless of the setting.

If anyone has any suggestions or knows what’s going on, I’d really appreciate it.
And please accept my apologies if my English isn’t perfect—I’m not my native language.

You don’t have anything that could slow down anything in Starcraft II. I used to play it fully loaded on an Acer craptop with an A8-3500M Llano APU. The most affordable options available today are often much stronger than what I had, particularly for desktop systems. From a hardware standpoint, there’s nothing from the last decade that could cause Starcraft II to lag. The only chance is something in Windows 10 or 11 that Starcraft doesn’t support. According to what I know, Starcraft was designed for Windows XP while Starcraft II was built for Windows 7, which could lead to compatibility problems. Try using compatibility mode for Windows 7 and check if the issue resolves.

Tanks for the reply. I try that but it doesn't work. I use the RX5600XT GPU and keep noting. In the past, I tried different versions on Windows 10 and the outcome was the same. Still strange to me that the issue only appears in the late game, and when I kill an enemy unit it works better. I don't know if anyone has other suggestions, please share. I really want to play the game smoothly as it should be.
