My computer has been acting sluggish since I installed it. I've attempted numerous solutions, from adjusting basic Windows settings to modifying many BIOS parameters. Still, I can't clearly identify the problem. At first, I suspected the GPU was the issue, then moved on to RAM and CPU. I checked my RAM and it's functioning properly; my GPU and CPU seem to be the main problems. I'll provide more details once I see how the performance drops in games, videos, or other applications.

To better explain the stuttering, it occurs in every game I play, regardless of graphical settings. It consistently lags by a few seconds. My 99th FPS is very low, often below half of my average. I ran benchmarks on several games, and my FPS fluctuates wildly, sometimes capping at 180 and then dropping to around 20.

Here are the details about my system:
GPU: RX 7800 XT
CPU: i5-13600K
RAM: Kingston Fury Beast 3200 MHz 32GB DDR4, Dual Channel
Motherboard: Asus Tuf Gaming B760 WiFi DDR4
SSDs: 2 x Kingston NVMe 1TB each
PSU: Corsair RM1000x Gold (I chose this because I initially thought my power supply was weak)
I also use 1440p resolution.

Please let me know if you can share more about the performance issues in games, videos, or other tasks. I really need your help and guidance.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
CPU: i5-13600K
How are you keeping the processor cool?
Motherboard: Asus Tuf Gaming B760 WiFi DDR4
Current BIOS version on your motherboard?
RAM: Kingston Fury Beast 3200 mhz 32GB DDR4, Dual Channel
Are you using a 2x 16GB RAM setup?
PSU: Corsair RM1000x Gold – I installed this after realizing my previous unit wasn’t providing sufficient power.
What was the model and year of your PSU before the RM1000x? How long has it been since you replaced it?
SSDs: 2 x Kingston NVMe 1TB each
Would it help to use Kingston’s app to check for firmware updates? Speaking of drives, which models are compatible with these SSDs?
What operating system are you using? Which games are you playing? Where did you obtain the installers for them?

How is your processor being cooled?
I’m using an arctic freezer 34 duo. I even reapplied the thermal paste to ensure optimal performance. The temperatures I’ve observed are within acceptable ranges.

Motherboard: Asus Tuf Gaming b760 wifi ddr4
What BIOS version do you have installed?
The most recent BIOS version is currently active. I’ve updated my motherboard three times, but none of those changes resolved the issue.

RAM: Kingston fury beast 3200 mhz 32 gb ddr4, dual channel
Are you using a 2x 16GB RAM configuration?
Yes, I’m running a 2x 16GB RAM setup.

PSU: Corsair RM1000x gold
I purchased this PSU because I initially thought my previous unit was inadequate and wasn’t providing sufficient power.

What was the model and year of your previous PSU? How long has it been since you replaced it?
I recently acquired the RM1000x, which is the 2024 model. My older PSU was a 750 w seasonic gold, GC-750.

SSD: Two Kingston NVMe 2 TB drives
It would be helpful to use Kingston’s app to check for any pending firmware updates. Speaking of storage, what are the specific models of these SSDs?
I checked the app recently and found no pending firmware updates. The health status is excellent. The model is KINGSTON SNV2S1000G.

I’m running Windows 11. Have I reinstalled it multiple times? What’s causing the stuttering?
Yes, I’ve reinstalled Windows several times, but the performance issues persist. Mostly, games cause stutters. I mainly play Fortnite and League of Legends. I’ve tried many different titles, but the problem continues.

Stuttering results from a brief shortage of an essential component.
Typically the CPU.
First, check if your CPU experiences occasional thermal throttling.
Next, search for conflicting applications such as Discord or potential malware.

I downloaded the intel extreme tuning utility to check for thermal throttling while running benchmarks. I experienced both thermal and power limit throttling. There are ways to address this, such as undervolting, but it could also involve issues with the motherboard.

XTU is built to restrict performance.
It doesn't work well with games.
Based on a guess, try removing the asus armoury crate.
It may resolve some problems.

I don't have the Armoury crate installed. I downloaded the drivers from the website and installed them myself.
