Question Streams/videos I view on a second screen experience stuttering during gameplay
Hello, I'm dealing with a persistent issue that's been bothering me for some time. Recently, I purchased a new PC, but whenever I stream on my secondary monitor and play a game on the main one, the stream stutters and drops to around 5 frames per second. The audio remains clear, but the video quality suffers. I've been trying to fix it for several days without success. My previous system didn't have this problem, and both use an NVIDIA GPU with the same cables for the monitors. The main monitor runs at 165Hz and the secondary at 60Hz. I've attempted to match the refresh rates but it hasn't helped. I've also adjusted many settings in the Nvidia control panel, yet nothing works. My current setup includes a 4070 TI GPU and an Intel I9-13900KF processor. Also, I'm not sure if this forum is the right place for this kind of question—I just don’t know what causes it.
Maybe, maybe. Could you tell me how I could verify if there were any issues? I’ve run a speed test, but it didn’t reveal anything unusual, which isn’t helpful. Also, I’m not experiencing any problems when accessing online servers in all games, and the videos are loading smoothly at full resolution.
I have some personal assumptions about where my movie and gameplay are coming from. Would you have any games that don’t require an online connection, so I can test if streaming affects performance? For example, would it help to try watching something locally instead of online? Also, are there other devices or people using the internet at the same time? Do you live in an area where local internet traffic is shared, like with cable service?
I've been playing a bit of Cyberpunk, and the issue persists. Whether online or offline games don't seem to make a difference.
There are others online, but nothing that should be a concern—I think they mostly use it for work and occasional media browsing.
My previous PC had no such problems, so I believe it shouldn't matter too much since internet usage is now similar to before.
I'm connected to a Wi-Fi network, and our home has fiber internet available.
