Question Strange sound when PSU is turned on! Assistance required
Hello everyone,
Last night while I was working on my project and leaving my PC running, a strange tickling sound caught my attention. I wasn’t sure what it was or if I missed it while focusing. After some checking, I realized it came from the PSU.
I own this PSU for more than four years without any issues. I’ve experienced coil whine on my older GPU before, but this one sounded different—more random and repetitive. I’m not sure what to do or how to fix it. Maybe it’s because I haven’t cleaned it up in a while? If anyone has suggestions, I’d really appreciate it.
Here’s my setup:
CPU: I9 9900K
CPU cooler: Corsair iCUE H100i RGB Pro
Motherboard: Z390 Aorus Pro WIFI-CF
RAM: Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO x4 @ 2666 MHZ

GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 (four years old)
Chassis: Deepcool Mattrex 50
OS: Windows 10
Monitor: AOC C24G1 24"
