Question Strange issue encountered with MEIx64
I recently needed to perform a full Windows 10 installation on this machine. The system is fairly outdated, and I had to purchase a used motherboard to swap out my previous one. I discovered a bent pin, but I managed to straighten it, and I believe it wasn’t anything unnecessary. After installing the new motherboard and reinstalling Windows, everything functioned properly—just a few MEIx64 errors appeared, but no major issues. Once I completed the installation, performance slowed significantly, prompting another clean install.
Now, over time, I’ve been experiencing recurring MEIx64 errors around 2 p.m. and again near 9 p.m., specifically:
"The description for Event ID 3 from source MEIx64 cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

I’ve been watching YouTube or playing games, and my PC would freeze for 30 seconds to a minute. Shutting it down feels unusual because it freezes briefly, then the spinning circle halts and my peripherals shut down. After that, it takes longer than usual to fully power off. Overall, it seems normal from what I understand. I’m unsure what to do next. I’ve checked for updates, run SFC and DISM scans, installed optional updates, verified my BIOS is current, tested the boot drive health, and used troubleshooting tools.
It’s not overly bothersome, but it’s a bit worrying since I don’t have the budget for a new system at the moment. Plus, I’m not very comfortable with BIOS updates—I’ll admit I’m a bit clueless when it comes to technology and might brick this motherboard if needed.
