Question Sony VAIO VPCJ21M1E All-in-One PC - touch screen malfunctions following Windows 10 reinstallation?
I recently had to swap out a damaged hard drive in a Sony Vaio VPCJ21M1E All-in-One Desktop PC.
Additionally, I needed to install a new Windows 10 Pro version. The installation proceeded smoothly, but the touch screen is now non-functional.
Checking the Device Specifications in Windows Settings shows "No pen or touch input is available for this display."
Because the chipset drivers for this model are no longer accessible on the Sony website, I’m unsure how to recover the touchscreen capability.
Anyone have suggestions?
For each driver you have for the laptop, set them up in compatibility mode. This means right-click the installer, go to Properties, then select Compatibility Mode, and choose Windows 7 or lower from the dropdown. You might find this useful, but be cautious with links from Driver Scape—they should be treated with skepticism. The support page for Sony's laptop isn't functioning properly because it's currently offline for maintenance.
Thank you for your response. I saw a notice on the Sony website about removing all drivers and similar items in early 2023. Thanks a bunch, Sony...
I attempted the drivers from that link but had no success. If anyone knows a touchscreen driver for a Vaio all-in-1 VPCJ21M1EB, please share it with me.
