I have a fresh setup with Windows 11 PRO installed. The PC is fully configured and the SSD holds Windows 11. I added a 3.5" SATA 6TB drive without issues on my previous Windows 10 system. After transferring data from another drive, I reinserted it into the new Windows 11 machine, but the drive becomes inaccessible. I disabled BitLocker temporarily and restarted it, yet I keep seeing the same warning message about incompatibility. The latest Windows version isn’t working on any older versions... Any advice would be appreciated. I’ve been troubleshooting this for hours and don’t know the next step.

confirm if it means incompatibility with the device rather than just the storage medium

Sorry, you're right about that. The pad lock icon on the drive has switched from gray and blue to gold now. It definitely changed after I installed it on the new machine, and when I booted up the PC it triggered a check... not sure what to make of it.

The BitLocker encryption isn't working with your current Windows version. You might want to try using a newer version of Windows to access the drive.

It might have been secured using Windows 10 before.

It is possible. It is very confusing bc I never encrypted my drives before and I was caught off guard when I switched the drive. Nothing would transfer then I realized it had the Bitlocker installed during the switch.
Either machine I put the drive in I get the exact result of what I stated above.
The drive appears in the "devices and drives" on either machine but it does not show any info on storage or anything. It is there but not being read and has the now gold "lock" symbol.
Is there a way that I can run a disk check on this drive. Maybe from a command prompt?
I cant do anything thru windows to check it bc it is not accessible...
Maybe from a boot?
I am tech savy to a point but this is a paygrade above me...

I handed over the drive to Microcenter, who could read it but requested $500 plus the cost of a new drive, so I declined. After some searching, they recommended using the DMDE program, which is free, but I chose to pay the $20 for an unlimited license to save folders and subfolders simultaneously. It’s functioning perfectly and I strongly suggest it for anyone needing
