Hi,
Yesterday I was cleaning my PC and noticed the GPU needed attention. I had already planned to use PTM 7950 because of its reputation for durability. It turned out the main problem was with the thermal pads on the memory—they were severely damaged and hard to remove. I had to repeatedly apply alcohol pads and gently scrape them off with my fingernail, but the condition made it difficult to measure the size accurately. Now I’m unsure what to do next.

I searched online and found that people using Pulse 6750 XTs often mention similar issues. There’s no clear information about the pad sizes for the Pulse 6750 XT, so I considered using the same pads recommended by owners of the 6700 XT Pulse cards. However, I’m not sure if Sapphire has updated anything since then.

I reached out to Sapphire support about the pad sizes, but they didn’t provide useful guidance and suggested using GPU-Z to log temperatures while I couldn’t reassemble the GPU due to destroyed pads. Now I’m looking for advice from others who have used a 6750 XT Pulse to get accurate measurements. Please help me out!

If you have access to sheets of PLA that are 1mm or thicker, they can serve as a reference for determining pad thickness. Alternatively, you might purchase pads in sizes such as .5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, and 2mm to suit your GPU needs. Just a note, even if you've tested thermal pads before, you should still get a general idea of their thickness. I looked online and found that users with Pulse 6750 XTs often share similar experiences. There’s no clear information about pad sizes for the Pulse 6750 XT, so I considered using the same sizes recommended by owners of the 6700 XT Pulse cards. I’m not entirely sure if Sapphire made any changes. Make sure you checked your sources...

I was trying to be light-hearted when I said it was destroyed, but it was actually very dry and crumbly, breaking apart right away. I wasn't able to get a piece big enough for the vernier caliper to measure.
Are you certain you understood my message correctly?
I'm not sure if Sapphire made any adjustments between the 6700 XT and the 6750 XT models.
I found the post you mentioned, which matches what I was thinking about using, though I wasn't sure if Sapphire had changed anything.
