Hi
I've been working on writing a book over the past few months and kept many tabs open, around thirty or more.
Two days ago my browser froze and I just folded the screen on my laptop, waiting a few hours in hope it would work again, but it didn’t.
Then I closed the browser by clicking the "X" in the top right corner, hoping to restore the tabs when I reopened it, but that didn’t help either.
I can see the history of the sites I visited over the last three months, but only when I visit or click on them. If a tab has been open for four months, it won’t appear in the logs.
I also don’t remember many of the websites I used to visit.
What should I do?
I checked the history recovery in my browser, but it’s just empty and shows no record of recently closed tabs.

There is no chance of recovery. Reopen all the tabs once more.
Looking ahead, you can save your browsing history indefinitely so it records every site you explore. Avoid deleting it altogether.
If you need to erase browsing data for security reasons, save the frequently visited tabs. This way, you won’t have to retain them all.
The 4-month system doesn’t require a restart and is stable.
I restart my system each day. In fact, I perform a complete shutdown every single day.

Manually, either from bookmarks or entering the website address. As I mentioned, there is no restore option if the browser didn't offer one automatically on the next launch.

I maintain a collection of copied and pasted website URLs in Notepad for easy access. These include frequently visited sites or those I anticipate revisiting. Occasionally duplicates appear, but the list becomes difficult to reach if a browser app crashes or bookmarks are cleared. The Notepad files are regularly saved, and some links are recoverable from permanent draft emails. If a site or bookmark is lost, I consult the list, reopen the link, and recreate the bookmark.
[Full disclosure: "New Notepad" disrupted this process and required some adjustments.]

For future reference -
you can establish a tab group in Edge browser and place your important tabs within the group.
The tab group is saved, so after you close the browser and reopen it,
clicking on the tab group will open all the grouped tabs.
However, if you haven't used tab groups, then you can only recover what is stored in browser history or bookmarked pages.
