I transferred the boot SSD and secondary storage from my Alienware laptop to my Desktop during setup. I understand it’s not ideal and that I should have reinstalled the OS on my Desktop earlier, but so far there haven’t been significant problems with its performance. Are there any potential risks or long-term concerns I should be aware of? Also, if anyone could assist with moving data to another SSD and reinstalling Windows while preserving my current data—especially since I’m considering upgrading from a 256 GB to a 1 TB SSD—I’d appreciate the guidance.

Occasionally it functions, but often it fails completely.
Occasionally, issues remain hidden for a long time.
Your data? Transfer it to another device and reinstall the OS, then restore all applications and your files.

There isn't a built-in method to move the files automatically. You would have to copy the data from one drive to another, reinstall the operating system on the empty drive, and then transfer the data manually.

Perfectly, perform a complete reset and reinstall on the new hardware. After that, just transfer the data from your existing storage to the new system.
