hi.
the required connections from the PSU to the motherboard are two mandatory ones.
one is a 24-pin connector and the other is either a 4-pin or an 8-pin....
i need to know their names.
i assumed the 4-pin was called Atx, but when i searched it shows different information.
or maybe the 8-pin is referred to as EPS?
also consider that a PSU might have two 4-pin connectors for the CPU, since only one fits properly and the other socket shape differs. so i wonder why a PSU maker would include two such 4-pin connectors? what could require another 4-pin? i'm not referring to those 8-pin+4-pin overclock Z series boards. just asking if a PSU without an 8-pin for the CPU can have only two 4-pin connectors.

For dual CPU motherboards, it might be an option.

They are
1) a 24-pin ATX power connector.
2) a 4-pin or 8-pin ATX power connector based on the motherboard.

Both names refer to the same port. I need to confirm the specific port details you're asking about.

They function as power connectors, often called motherboard power connectors, rather than ports (typically used for data).
The 24-pin power connector is essentially a 20-pin plus a 4-pin connector.
The 4-pin or 8-pin connectors for the CPU serve as auxiliary power connectors since not all CPUs require them.

and since the 4pin connector, only work on half of the 8 pin on downside, and you can't use two 4 pin because both of them only match one side and the other side is different. could you please tell me what may require another such 4 pin? why did a psu maker make 2x the same 4 pin?
