Hello! I’ve been here for a while and have noticed how you all have managed to fix many problems. I’m seeking some advice.
Recently, my PC has been showing BSODs without warning. It often freezes suddenly and then crashes after about 30 seconds to a minute. My system boots normally, but the repeated error messages are quite bothersome. The blue screen appears briefly before the computer restarts, so I have to film it each time to capture the details. So far, there have been three error notifications.
I receive the following critical errors: CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED, DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION, and UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION.
I’ve tried uninstalling the WiFi driver, reinstalling Windows from scratch, reseating RAM and SSD, and running memory tests like memtest86 and memtest86+—all indicating everything is fine. I also ran sfc scan, updated the SSD firmware, used chdsk and dism, and other command-line utilities. The latest update I added was a 2TB Western Digital Black NVMe SSD, which the software reports as healthy. I also have a 2TB HDD. My SSD temperatures stay well below 55°C.
Occasionally, certain actions cause a BSOD. For instance, installing specific programs or opening Chrome with Memory Saver mode often triggers the crash. I suspect it might be related to RAM or the SSD, though this is based on others’ experiences.
Regarding crash logs or memory dumps, even Minidumps don’t work consistently. When I experience a BSOD, opening Event Viewer—Custom Views—Administrative Events—I see errors like:
volmgr: Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation
Kernel-Power: The system rebooted without a clean shutdown
Eventlog: Audit events were dropped by the transport
All logs are available in the system32 → winevt → Logs folder.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! For instance, when I attempt to install a certain program, what would appear in Device Manager? Does it highlight anything with a yellow exclamation mark? On another point, when sharing a troubleshooting thread, it's standard to provide detailed system specifications. Please list them clearly: CPU, CPU cooler, Motherboard, RAM, SSD/HDD, GPU, PSU, Chassis, OS, Monitor. Also include the age of the power supply unit, along with its make and model, the current BIOS version for your motherboard, and any other relevant details.

CPU: Intel Core i9-10900K at 3.70 GHZ
CPU cooler: Uncertain, will update during next PC setup
Motherboard: Alienware 0N43JM BIOS Version 1.0.24
RAM: 32gb HyperX Fury 2933mhz
Storage: 1 WD_BLACK SN2770 2TB NVME SSD, 1 TEAM T2532TB 2TB SATA SSD
GPU: Two Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER in SLI configuration
Power Supply: Dell HU1000EGM-00 1000W (approximately 4 years old)
Chassis: Alienware Aurora R11
Operating System: Windows 10 22H2
Display: AOC monitor

The power supply’s age is noted separately from its brand and model. BIOS version for the motherboard is currently available. The Alienware was not my initial choice; it was purchased by my dad in 2020, and I acquired it this year at a great price. It functioned properly until after installing the WD SSD a month prior. Problems began afterward, coinciding with my latest hardware upgrade.

BSODs often occur when running standalone installers (occasionally) or consistently during login, waiting on the Home screen, and then launching Google Chrome.

Recently, I attempted to swap RAM modules from another PC to this one, but the issue persisted, indicating the problem may lie with the WD SSD or the motherboard. I also ran the r/techsupport hwinfo torture test for 20 minutes without issues.

For reference, here are some hwinfo logs tracking system specifications during idle and crash states, which might help others.

Additionally, a new BSOD error appeared: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR
