Hello, I recently upgraded my 4-year-old system and have encountered an issue. The PC functions properly in regular apps such as Chrome, but in games like Rust, whenever I switch tabs or click on something on the second monitor, the machine either restarts or displays blue screens.

We can't help you with two lines worth of text with vague information. One being the thread title and the other being the line mentioned in your thread's body.
When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

did you attempt to reset the expo memory to the default 2666 standard? occasionally a new CPU might have an IMC with voltage levels that can't support the same RAM at expo, or the value may need adjustment. try checking the JEDEC RAM specifications first, then proceed step by step for memory compatibility. ryzen ims are generally less capable than intel ims, which can limit the achievable memory clock speed.

yes, i've also attempted to set default ram speeds and bios without using sam, but the issue persists

If so, I suggest you attempt running single channel RAM, performing a memory stress test with OCCT, and checking the hw monitor for any unusual behavior. Occasionally strange occurrences might happen, such as forgetting to reapply thermal paste and using an old cooler with leftover paste, which could lead to thermal issues. If the single RAM module still causes memory errors, it likely points to a problem with the IMC or the RAM itself. Check if the temperature has risen excessively; if memory errors appear, the RAM/IMC may be faulty. If only one module shows an error, it might indicate bad RAM. When both modules behave similarly, consider replacing the 5800X and contacting the shop for a replacement or RMA.
